A fire at a condemned building in the town of Mexico is now considered suspicious.

The Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office says the fire broke out around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at a vacant building on Oxford Street near the intersection with Granite Street.

Investigators said the fire was incendiary in nature and intentionally set.

They’re working to identify the person pictured below:

The selectboard declared the building unsafe and ordered it to be torn down back in September.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office at 207-624-7076.
