Man Faces Attempted Murder from Dixmont Shooting

A 25-year-old man is facing attempted murder charges following a shooting in Dixmont.

Penobscot County deputies say they received a call reporting a man was out of control and recklessly firing a gun on Masonic Road on Friday night.

They say Caleb Springer injured three friends and family members.

One of the victims was shot at while seated in a vehicle, and others were injured after being hit with a bat.

Springer was arrested and taken  to the Penobscot County Jail where he was charged with Attempted Murder Class A, Aggravated Reckless Conduct Class B and Aggravated Assault Class B, additional charges are excepted to be filed.
Deputies say they’re continuing to investigate the incident and review the facts with the District Attorney’s Office.
